Interesting tidbit...
Did you know? Generalized aniety disorder is defined, in part, by worry about future events. This requires the ability to understand the concept of "future," a cognitive skill that usually emerges around age 12. (Abnormal Psych pg 12)

I'm not going to type this whole section out, but it's on page 10 of my Abnormal Psych book. It's definitely poses some good questions ie... When does one have "enough" of a symptom to have a diagnosis?

Rates of mental illness...
Why are men more likely to have addiction issues? Is there any data to support the theory that women tend to recognize and seek treatment for other mental illnesses before it reaches the point of addiction?
